World Asthma Day is held every year on the first Tuesday of May. Its goal is to make people more aware of asthma and improve how it is managed around the world. This year the theme is “Make Inhaled Treatments Accessible for ALL”.

The theme for 2025 emphasizes how important it is to make sure that all people with asthma can quickly get inhaled medicines, which are important for both controlling the disease and treating severe cases. Healthcare providers are encouraged to prescribe critical inhaled corticosteroid-containing drugs, either alone or in conjunction with reliever medications, to alleviate the ongoing burden of preventable asthma-related morbidity and mortality.

Asthma is a chronic respiratory condition, causing inflammation and narrowing of the airways, that affects millions of people worldwide, typically resulting in wheezing, shortness of breath, and a lower quality of life. By emphasising accessibility, World Asthma Day 2025 aims to minimise preventable asthma-related morbidity and mortality, ensuring that every asthmatic may attain optimal health

outcomes.

Here at The Chest Clinic, Dr. Javed Husain and his colleagues provide patients with asthma with comprehensive and specialised care. Having worked in pulmonary medicine for many years, Dr. Husain offers individualized treatment programmes based on the health and lifestyle of each patient. With spirometry, we precisely assess the lung function and determine asthma severity. Patients are thoroughly educated on inhaler practices, medication use, and how to recognise and manage asthma triggers.

The Chest Clinic prioritises long-term disease control by managing allergies, providing lifestyle counselling, and doing routine follow-ups. Additionally, Dr. Husain makes sure that patients are ready to face asthma crises with assurance and attain better symptom management, fewer episodes, and a higher standard of living.
